We are delighted to officially launch our 153rd Kentucky Derby Tour for 2027, following our recent visit to Louisville and Churchill Downs as we prepare to work closely alongside the team behind one of the most iconic sporting events in the world.
Known as ‘The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports’, the Kentucky Derby is far more than just a horse race. From the atmosphere around Louisville to the traditions, fashion and world class racing on track, Derby week is one of the true bucket list experiences in global sport.
Our 2027 tour has been carefully designed to give you the ultimate Derby week experience, combining world class racing, exclusive access and some of the very best experiences Kentucky has to offer both on and off the racecourse.
The tour begins with flights from the UK to Louisville, where we will enjoy a welcome drink on arrival before settling in ahead of an unforgettable week. During the trip, we will head to Lexington for a tour of Keeneland Racecourse alongside an exclusive stud visit, followed by a welcome dinner with a special racing guest.
Alongside the racing, the tour also includes an Old Forester Bourbon Tour, visits around Louisville including the Muhammad Ali Museum, and the chance to experience the atmosphere building around Churchill Downs during Derby week, including morning trackwork and the option to attend Thurby Day.
Oaks Day and Kentucky Derby Day will both include covered reserved grandstand seating, complimentary bar and buffet food throughout the day, placing you right in the heart of one of the biggest sporting occasions in the world. Oaks Day regularly attracts crowds of over 100,000, while approximately 150,000 people attend Kentucky Derby Day itself.
To round off the tour, we will enjoy a farewell lunch at one of Louisville’s iconic restaurants before our overnight flight back to the UK.
Packages with and without flights are available, alongside flexible options for those wishing to extend their stay or create a bespoke Derby itinerary around the tour.

ABOUT THE EVENT:
The Kentucky Derby is the highlight of the American racing calendar and one of the most recognised horse racing events in the world. Held annually at the legendary Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky, the race was first run in 1875 and is contested over 1¼ miles on dirt for three year olds.
Kentucky Derby week begins with Kentucky Oaks Day on the Friday, a Grade 1 contest for three year old fillies and one of the biggest racedays in America in its own right, before attention turns to the Kentucky Derby on Saturday. Often referred to as ‘The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports’, the Derby attracts crowds of over 150,000 spectators each year and remains one of the most watched sporting events in the United States.
The 2026 renewal saw Golden Tempo produce a remarkable late run under Jose Ortiz to win the 152nd Kentucky Derby, giving trainer Cherie DeVaux a historic first success in the race as the first female trainer to win the event.
