MEET THE TEAM
Marc Blackford
Director of Horse Racing Travel
I head up the Racing Around The World team and organised my first tour over 25 years ago. With extensive experience and strong connections across the global racing industry, I have also been an owner for many years, enjoying winners at Cheltenham and the Lincolnshire National. I currently sit on the board at Market Rasen Racecourse and still enjoy nothing more than a day at the smaller local tracks.
Hazel Millikin
Operations Executive
I have spent over 13 years in the Operations Team at Venatour, working across a wide range of events and overseas trips. In recent years, I’ve been closely involved with Marc on our horse racing tours, enjoying the variety of destinations and racecourses we visit. My favourite places include New Zealand and Japan. Outside of work, I have a young family that keeps me busy, and I was a keen rower, something I hope to return to in the future.
Harry Beard
Horse Racing Sales & Marketing Executive
After graduating in 2024, I joined Venatour as a Horse Racing Sales & Marketing Executive, working across our racing tours and events. It’s a role that combines two things I enjoy most, travelling and meeting new people.
Outside of work, you’ll usually find me on a racecourse, and if not, putting myself through the weekly emotional rollercoaster of watching Manchester United.
Izzy Blackford
Operations & Marketing Executive
After graduating from the University of Brighton, I joined Venatour in January as part of the Racing Around The World team. I’m involved across our racing tours and events, working with a range of destinations and helping deliver great experiences for our clients.
Outside of work, you’ll usually find me travelling, socialising with friends, or making the most of any opportunity to get to the races.
Dr Simon Gillson
Tour Manager
Yorkshireman who emigrated to Cheltenham and possesses a long-term passion for both travel and horse racing. Qualified from Nottingham Medical school in 1995 which handily means we have a doctor on most of our trips.
Has also been responsible for the Fergal O'Brien Racing social media output for a decade (though don't hold that against us).
Rishi Persad
Racing Ambassador
We are delighted to have Rishi on the team, one of the most recognisable and popular presenters on the horse racing circuit.
Rishi has presented at many big race meetings around the world and always offers a fascinating insight when away on tour. Not just racing, Rishi has worked at some of the biggest sports events around the globe and has some great stories to tell!
