We are delighted to have partnered with The Adlestrop Club for our incredible trip to the Velka Pardubicka in October 2026!
Each October, the world’s attention turns to the Czech Republic for one of Europe’s great racing occasions – the Velka Pardubicka. First run in 1874, this legendary steeplechase is known for its gruelling course and daring fences that test both horse and rider to their limits. The atmosphere on race day is electric, with crowds flocking from all over Europe to witness a spectacle like no other. In 2025, history was made when Stumptown became the first Irish-trained horse ever to win the race, sealing his place among the greats under an incredible ride from Keith Donoghue.
But this trip is about much more than just racing. We’ll be based in the stunning city of Prague – one of Europe’s true gems. With its fairytale skyline, cobbled streets and vibrant culture, Prague has something for everyone. You'll be able to wander through the Old Town, enjoy a pint of world-famous Czech beer, or take in the views from the Charles Bridge as the sun sets over the river.

ABOUT THE EVENT:
The Velka Pardubicka stands as the crown jewel of Czech jump racing and one of the toughest steeplechases anywhere in the world. First run in 1874, this extraordinary race has built a reputation for bravery, endurance and drama, played out each October at Pardubice Racecourse in front of tens of thousands of passionate fans from all across Europe.
The race’s roll of honour is packed with legends who have conquered its fearsome course, negotiating iconic obstacles such as the Taxis Ditch and Popkovice Turn that have become part of steeplechasing folklore. In 2025, the spotlight belonged to Stumptown, who made history as the first Irish-trained horse ever to win the Velka Pardubicka, a performance that captured the imagination of passionate racing fans from all across Europe.
Every renewal of the Velka Pardubicka delivers incredible moments as horse and rider take on the ultimate test of courage and stamina. The atmosphere is electric, the race unforgettable, and the sense of history unmistakable – making this one of the true bucket-list races in the European National Hunt calendar.
