Venatour Racing Social are extremely excited to be heading back for some ‘January Sunshine’ in Cape Town with a spectacular itinerary including The Cape Town Sun Met, one of the biggest race days in Africa and we have secured the Ultimate Hospitality Box on the Finishing Line with Complimentary Food & Drink throughout the day!
Following the hugely successful tours to Cape Town over the last few years, we could not resist in going back again and another action packed itinerary awaits along with two potential extensions. The main tour includes a stay in a 5* Central Cape Town Hotel and offers a Stable Visit, ‘Morning On the Beach’ with Justin Snaith’s horses, Two Hosted Dinners, Stud Visit, Winelands Tour, Sunset Boat Trip and much more. In regards to the racing, the Cape Town Met is one of the biggest race days in the South African calendar and we have secured a Private Suite over-looking the Winning Line with complimentary food and drink.
We have two extensions on offer, the first is at the start of the trip and is a 3 Night Stay in Franschoek, renowned for its huge range of Winelands and upmarket Shops, Cafes and Restaurants. The extension includes a day on the famous Wine Tram and a further day in Stellenbosch with plenty of time to explore the town.
We have saved the best until last with our final extension, a trip to the 5* Pumba Game Reserve with two morning drives and two evening drives along with an all-inclusive experience at the resort.
Tuesday 27th January

Direct Overnight Flights from London Heathrow to Cape Town.
Wednesday 28th January

Arrive in Cape Town approx. Midday.

Transfers to our 5* Hotel for Check In.

Free afternoon to settle in and get a first glimpse of Cape Town.

Welcome Drinks on the Roof Terrace overlooking Table Mountain and Lions Head.

Supper in the 5* Hotel Restaurant.
Thursday 29th January

Early morning transfer to Milnerton Training Centre to watch some horses work and talk to trainers & jockeys. Milnerton is a training base where a variety of trainers are located and multiple gallops.

We will head back to the hotel in time for breakfast.

In the afternoon we have a table booked at the Yearling Sales at Kenilworth Racecourse with complimentary food and drink, you are welcome to join us at any point in the afternoon.

Evening of leisure with a huge variety of restaurants to choose from, Venatour staff will be able to help with suggestions.
Friday 30th January

Early morning transfer to Muizenberg Beach to meet Champion Trainer, Justin Snaith, and his string of horses as they enjoy a canter along the beach and a paddle in the sea. This is a spectacular sight and one not to be missed.

Coffee and Pastries are complimentary on the beach during our visit.

Following the beach visit, we drive along the beautiful coastline to Boulders Bay to view the African Penguins.

Hosted Dinner at one of Cape Town’s lovely restaurants in preparation for Race Day.
Saturday 31st January

Leisurely breakfast while preparing for the big day of racing at one of Africa’s premier meetings.

Transfers to Kenilworth Racecourse.

We have secured the Ultimate Private Box overlooking the Finishing Line and Complimentary Food and Drink are included throughout the day (Box closes 1 hour after the last race).

After race entertainment before being transferred back to the hotel.
Sunday 1st February

After experiencing a wonderful days racing and hospitality, it’s a more relaxed day with breakfast at the hotel.

It’s a day of leisure with possible excursions or just a lazy day at the beach or by the pool.

We have arranged a Sunset Cruise on our Private Yacht for early evening. We will head of the harbour and around Sea Point and up to Camps Bay to experience the sunset before heading back to the Waterfront.

An evening at your own pace follows.
Monday 2nd February

Breakfast at the hotel.

Today is all about the South African Wine, following a beautiful drive up Chapmans Peak, we will head to Constantia Wine Region where you will experience a couple of wine tasting sessions within two Winelands before lunch overlooking the beautiful valley.

The final evening will be at leisure.
Tuesday 3rd February

Final breakfast at the hotel before Check Out

Although it is the last day, we have not finished yet! Our final day takes us to the Franschoek area and a visit to the simply stunning Drakenstein Sud where we will see some of the best stallions in South Africa.

After the stud visit you will get a chance to spend a few hours in Franschoek, a beautiful small town with a range of lovely shops, cafes and restaurants.

Its time to get back to the airport for the flight home or if you are lucky enough to have booked the safari, it's off to Port Elizabeth.
Wednesday 4th February

Arrive back in the UK following the overnight fight.

We recommend Venatour 100%!
Just returned from a fabulous tour experience to Cape Town SA and Pumba private game reserve (we saw 4 of the Big 5) with Venatour. It was absolutely awesome and incredibly good value, rich in different experiences and a really safe way to travel to places we maybe wouldn't visit alone.
The hospitality we received throughout the tour was generous and delicious. Accommodation was 5* and we Recommend Venatour 100% - we are planning a 4th trip with them for 2026 and have one in the bag for later this year.

Cannot praise them highly enough!
My horseracing trip to South Africa was nothing short of amazing. With a full itinerary which you could dip in and out of was excellent.

It was exceptionally well organised.
We have just returned from a trip to Cape Town and Pumba private game reserve.
One of the most exciting days was the Met race day where we were treated to hospitality all day in a private box adjacent to the finish line.
Then it was off to Pumba for 3 days safari where we were lucky enough to see 4 of the 'big 5'. The guides were truly amazing. The lodges we stayed in were fabulous, having views of the watering hole, we even had a plunge pool.

Loved everything about this trip.
We have just returned from Cape Town and loved everything about this trip, from watching the horses ride out at Muizenberg beach, to racing at Kenilworth and wine tasting at Constantia. The added benefit of stunning scenery, culture, and the cosmopolitan V&A waterfront area, make it hard to pick a highlight from this truly exceptional trip!
Marc and his team are excellent both with communication and knowledge. Transfers were seamless, and the hotels were superb. This is an amazing trip which we will definitely do again!
