RACEDAYS EXPLAINED
Every day of the Royal meeting is filled with drama, excitement but most of all, incredible talent. Here is a run down of each day:
TUESDAY
The first day of Royal Ascot sets the tone for the week. It features three Group 1 races: the Queen Anne Stakes for top-class milers, the King’s Stand Stakes for the fastest sprinters over five furlongs, and the St James’s Palace Stakes for leading three-year-old colts.
WEDNESDAY
Wednesday’s highlight is the Prince of Wales’s Stakes, a Group 1 run over a mile and a quarter that regularly attracts some of the world’s best middle-distance horses. The card also includes the Queen Mary Stakes for two-year-old fillies and the Duke of Cambridge Stakes for older fillies and mares.
THURSDAY
Thursday is the most famous day of the meeting, known as Gold Cup Day. The Ascot Gold Cup, run over two miles and four furlongs, is the ultimate test of stamina for stayers and one of the most historic races in the sport. Supporting races include the Ribblesdale Stakes and the Norfolk Stakes.
FRIDAY
Friday focuses on the younger generation. The Coronation Stakes brings together the top three-year-old fillies over a mile, while the Commonwealth Cup is the championship sprint for three-year-olds over six furlongs. The King Edward VII Stakes, often seen as Ascot’s version of the Derby, is another key race.
SATURDAY
The final day features the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes, a Group 1 sprint over six furlongs for older horses. The Hardwicke Stakes for established middle-distance performers, the ultra-competitive Wokingham Handicap, and the Chesham Stakes for two-year-olds round off the meeting.
RACEDAY HOSPITALITY
Royal Ascot offers an exceptional choice of dining experiences, ranging from elegant fine dining and Michelin-inspired cuisine to more relaxed, club-style settings. With options to suit every preference and budget, you can create a hospitality experience that perfectly complements your day at the Royal Meeting.
