The new jumps season officially got underway at Chepstow with big crowds and some thrilling action on the track, marking the start of another exciting campaign in South Wales. The atmosphere was fantastic as racegoers turned out in force to welcome back National Hunt racing, setting the tone for what promises to be a memorable winter of sport.

For every Welsh-trained or Welsh-ridden winner at the DragonBet Welsh Racing Festival, we have donated £250 plus an addition £100 from DragonBet to Latch - an incredible charity which supports children receiving treatment for cancer and leukaemia at the Children's Hospital for Wales and their families. You can find more about Latch here: https://latchwales.org/

On the track, Connie's Rose's seventh course victory at our September meeting meant she became the join winning-most flat horse at Chepstow. Congratulations to trainer Grace Harris and owners Paul and Ann de Weck

Our Annual Members also enjoyed an exclusive morning visit to the yard of Kim Bailey and Mat Nicholls, where they were given a fascinating behind-the-scenes insight into one of Britain’s leading National Hunt operations. We would like to pass on our thanks to Mat for guiding us around the yard on what was a gorgeous morning in Cheltenham.
