There has been plenty of action over both codes recently, here is what has been happening at Southwell:

Harry Skelton still leads the standings for winning-most Southwell jockey this season! Harry has nine winners, two winners in front of James Bowen who sits on seven.

Unsurprisingly therefore, Dan Skelton leads the way in the trainer standings and on his march towards Champion Trainer, he has picked up eight winners at Southwell this year. Nicky Henderson's record around Southwell reads very well. From his nine runners, four have won!

Hector Crouch, Billy Loughnane and Luke Morris are going down to the wire in the All-Weather Championships. All three jockeys have ridden superbly in the last few months but who will come out on top?

Royal Champion landed the BetUK Winter Derby in terrific style for Clifford Lee and Karl Burke. Sent off as the 6/4 favourite in what looked a warm task on paper, Lee delivered his mount in the final furlong and powered to the line. Military Academy chased the favourite home and was a gallant runner-up but the winner looks to be on a serious upward curve since joining the Karl Burke yard.
