We had a brilliant time at our Country & Western Raceday in May – a fantastic afternoon of racing and entertainment that was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone on course. The atmosphere was lively from start to finish, with plenty of smiles, great music, and exciting action on the track. We’re already looking forward to welcoming you back for more great days at Southwell throughout the year.
On the track, Understudy landed the Novice Stakes in convincing fashion before finishing 2nd in the Ribblesdale at Royal Ascot!
It’s been a fantastic few weeks for staff recognition at the racecourse, with several team members being celebrated for their outstanding contributions. Cieran Ancill received his staff recognition board award from Head Chef Steve Williams in acknowledgment of his dedication and hard work behind the scenes. Eddie Hector was also honoured, picking up his second staff recognition award of the year from his manager John Holliday – a testament to his continued excellence and consistency. Meanwhile, Bradley Hardacre was named June’s award recipient, with his manager Lee Brookes presenting the accolade in recognition of Bradley’s much-deserved efforts and commitment. Well done to all three – and thank you for everything you do!

We have organised a trip to Dave Loughnane's yard on Tuesday 19th August. If you would like to come along to this, please contact racing@venatour.co.uk or call 01242 650192 to book your spot. Spaces are limited so if you wish to come, please get in touch!
