2 of Uttoxeter’s groundstaff, Tom Mothershaw and Cole Moody, attended and passed the week long Ground Management Association Level 2 Course at Newmarket at the end of February.
This course is a significant stepping stone in their development as grounds professionals. This will put them in a good position for their future within the industry.
Within ARC all groundstaff sit within one of 6 bands dependant in their experience, skillset and qualifications, enabling them all to have a clear career path.
Tom and Cole have not been with the racecourse that long but they have shown the right enthusiasm and attributes which were recognised in the selection for these much sought after courses.
They said “ We both really enjoyed the course and found it very informative and highly recommend it. Special thanks to the great tutors who supported us. We look forward to putting into practice what we learnt which we hope will be reflected on the ongoing improvement to the racing surface at Uttoxeter Racecourse”
