Brighton Racecourse Latest News / Reciprocal Dates

We really couldn't have asked for a better seasonal opener which saw doubles for both Luke Morris and Tony Carroll, the latter continuing his fine run of form here at Brighton! But it was Morris who scored in the opening race of 2025 aboard Rogue Bullet for trainer Jack Jones, winning by a short-head in front of the fast finishing Gennadius. It didn't take long for Carroll to saddle a winner however as upcoming star, Jack Doughty, guided Time Patrol to score by a neck in our third race of the afternoon.

However, arguably the biggest story of the night, was the news that course legend Rivas Rob Roy ran his last race before retirement. John Gallagher's superstar raced at Brighton 34 times, 6 of them were winners and on five more occasions he was second! We will certainly miss him visiting us.

Star Sports have also launched an exciting new series for our winning-most owner/syndicate in 2025 which sees the winner awarded with a £10,000 bonus!
