City of Troy Gallop

On Friday 20th September 2024, Southwell Racecourse had the privilege of hosting one of the world’s best horses, City of Troy for a training gallop.  In excess of 1,500 people attended the racecourse to watch Aidan O’Brien’s team of horses take to the track.  Aidan had taken everything into consideration including bringing his own American style stalls and although things didn’t pan out quite as you would have hoped in America, Southwell Racecourse enjoyed hosting this exceptional day and is excited to say we have played a small part in City of Troy’s career.    

Starting 2025 with Southwell’s biggest prize money jumps meeting

We were delighted to kickstart 2025 with a huge £175k on offer on New Year's Day with a £75k hurdle on a wet and windy 1st January! Despite the conditions, it was a fantastic day for everybody involved!
